Taku Miyamoto
Born in Wakayama on July 10, 1957. After graduating from Kanagawa University, he joined the Photography Division of Asahi Golf Co., Ltd.
In 1987, he became an independent freelance golf photographer and soon relocated his base overseas. Since then, he has covered more than 100 major championships—including the Masters Tournament, the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship—capturing not only the drama of the game but also deeper human truths through the masterful use of light and shadow.
He has also devoted himself to photographing golf courses around the world, expanding his work internationally through image features in leading overseas golf magazines. He has served as an official licensed photographer for Pebble Beach Golf Links since 2002, Riviera Country Club since 2010, and Abiko Golf Club since 2013.
His publications include Journey to Beautiful Golf Courses and Dream of Riviera, as well as the Road to Dream Golf Courses series (Shogakukan Bunko), co-authored with acclaimed writer Shizuka Ijuin.
He is a member of the Golf Writers Association of America and serves on the selection committee of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
