FAIRWAYS
At Nidom Classic, the fairways and rough are planted with premium cool-season turf, including ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass. The fairways are maintained at a mowing height of 12 mm and the rough at 32 mm, with clearly defined boundary lines between the two. Meticulous zebra mowing creates distinct grain direction, enhancing both the visual beauty of the course and the challenge it presents. Primary landing areas are generously wide, while secondary zones are kept deliberately narrow. This thoughtful balance of forgiveness and precision results in a course setup that is challenging yet highly enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

GREENS
The greens feature Penncross bentgrass and are typically maintained at a height of 3–4 mm. Green speed is set with a target Stimpmeter reading of 9.5 to 11 feet, while standard surface firmness (compaction value) is maintained at approximately 22–23.
With virtually no grain, the greens rely solely on their distinctive undulations to provide a fair yet engaging challenge. Seasonal aeration in spring and autumn promotes deep, healthy root systems, while frequent topdressing keeps the surface smooth and true, producing greens that hold spin effectively and roll consistently and smoothly.

BUNKERS
Cross bunkers are strategically positioned to intersect key landing areas, adding both challenge and interest to the course strategy. Shaped in harmony with the natural undulations of the terrain, they often leave players facing uneven lies within the bunker, with the stance sloping in multiple directions.
Most holes feature greenside guard bunkers, and on holes with larger greens, certain pin positions may demand long, precise bunker shots. On some holes, trees have been intentionally left within the bunkers, adding both uniqueness and an extra layer of difficulty. Across its 45 holes, Nidom Classic is protected by 152 strategically positioned bunkers. Experience the fine, compact sand sourced from the Ishikari coast of Hokkaido and enjoy the satisfying feel of a clean, confident explosion shot.

COURSE RATING
Please refer to the table below for the Course Rating and Slope Rating of each course.
What is Slope Rating?: Under the USGA Handicap System, which is currently used in approximately 60 countries and regions worldwide, the Slope Rating is a standardized value that reflects how a golfer’s score is affected by both playing ability and course difficulty. The standard Slope Rating is 113. In general, a higher number indicates a more difficult course, while a lower number indicates an easier one. By multiplying your Handicap Index by the Slope Rating and then dividing by 113, you can calculate the Course Handicap appropriate for that course.
Example: A golfer with a Handicap Index of 15 playing the Nispa Course from the white
tees: 15 × 130 ÷ 113 = 17 (rounded to the nearest whole number)
| Courses | Teeing grounds | Course rates | Slope rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nispa Course | Green Tee | 73.5 | 137 |

■ Slope rating: The slope rating is a value with which score variations are calculated depending on the golfer’s skill and the difficulty of the course using the USGA Handicap System currently adopted in approximately 60 countries and regions in the world. The average value is 113 and values larger than this mean higher difficulty and smaller values mean lower difficulty levels. To determine a course handicap, multiply your handicap index by the slope rating value and divide it by 113.
■ Example (course handicap for a person with a handicap of 15 starting the round from the White Tee on the Nispa Course)
15×130÷113=17 (rounded off to the closest whole number)
